The Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra (
JSO) was founded in the 1940’s.
Under it’s current musical director, the orchestra divides its time between
live radio broadcasts, concerts arround the world, and recording sessions in
its home concert theater, the Henry Crown Concert Hall. It is a well-endowed,
well-equipped orchestra with patrons abroad and at home. The Jerusalem Symphony
Orchestra has a long history of working with outstanding artists, such as
Arthur
Rubinstein,
Daniel Barenboim,
Otto Klemperer,
Henryk Szeryng,
Issac Stern,
Radu
Lupu and others. With 63 seasons of experience, the orchestra knows
itself: bow changes are elegant; sections easily attain an internal balance;
and tonality is rock-solid.
There’s no language problem here. The Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra’s
musicians are very accustomed to working with guest conductors - in English.
The recording venue
The 800-seat Henry Crown Concert Hall in Jerusalem is home to the Jerusalem
Symphony Orchestra (
JSO) and the primary recording venue. The
hall was built in 1986 specifically for concerts and recordings. The venue has
an enormous volume, resulting in rich overtones and a feeling of “space”
in the recordings. Surround recordings are especially dramatic and pleasing.
Our engineering
We have years of experience in classical, ethnic, liturgical and jazz music
recording, and we have learned what matters in a recording - a pure and clean
sound.
JSO uses Schoeps microphones with on-stage pre-amps and Apogee
converters, and we design and manufacture our own microphone pre-amps and consoles.
JSO’s attention to every technical detail yields recordings
of unrivaled clarity and depth. You get a full, rich recording which “sits
well” with your film, in any delivery format. The depth in the recordings
allows room for your film’s dialogue, sound effects and backgrounds to
punch through, while maintaining comparatively high music levels.
BEAMLIGHT can package your elements for editing and
final mix “back home,” or we can provide complete music mixing,
editing and “fitting” services in Jerusalem. We can provide any
mix configuration, from stereo to 5.1 surround, as well as solo channels for
later re-mix.
